I painted this on a late February evening after teaching painting at the university all afternoon. The low winter sun transformed the familiar shapes of the chicken coop, creating long shadows and shifting the colors across the building and surrounding landscape. These moments of golden hour light are fleeting, and I love the excitement of trying to capture them before they disappear.
This is the original painting, an oil on canvas measuring 16 × 20" and will come framed.
