In this first golden-hour painting of summer, I played with the composition for quite a while before I started painting. I moved five feet from side to side, working out the composition on paper with pencils and markers before deciding to include the fence post and gate.
The golden-hour light created a brilliant glow that guided my brushes I painted through two golden hours.
This is the original painting, an oil on canvas measuring 16 × 20" and will come framed.
