I painted this bouquet of dahlias in the early autumn light, enjoying the incredible variety of colors and shapes in these flowers. I love how the warm oranges, pinks, and yellows play against the cooler purples and greens. Rather than focusing on every individual petal, I looked for the larger shapes and color relationships that bring the whole bouquet together.
This is the original painting, an oil on canvas measuring 20 × 24" and will come framed.
