This was painted under the smoky skies we had in July from the Canadian wildfires. The light was very unique. At times, you could see the saucer shape of the sun glowing pink or orange in the middle of the day, and that unusual light influenced all of the shapes of light in this painting.
It's also interesting to notice that the complimentary color is normally present in the shadows. In this piece, the turquoises and greens in the shadows contrast with the glowing oranges and pinks, helping to create the feeling of that strange July light.
This is the original painting, an oil on canvas measuring 20 × 24" and will come framed.
