In the last week of August, we had a series of evenings with amazing moonrises. The moon appeared huge and glowing pink and orange as it came up over the horizon. I set up to paint the late-evening golden-hour light illuminating the trees, the road, and an old weathered barn in the distance. I loved the contrast between the warm, fading sunlight and the rising moon, and the way both seemed to transform the familiar landscape.
This is the original painting, an oil on canvas measuring 16 × 20" and will come framed.
