This piece was painted in mid-July, at the height of summer. The mosquitoes were out, the atmosphere was dense, and the golden-hour light transformed the barn into a beautiful pink, surrounded by greens and turquoise shadows.
This was one of those moments when I needed to mix and paint exactly what I was seeing while the effect lasted only a few minutes. I returned to the scene for three days to capture the beauty of this particular light.
This is the original painting, an oil on canvas measuring 16 × 20" and will come framed.
