In the late summer, my wife drove us all over the countryside looking for a garage sale, while I found myself noticing the light falling across farms I had never painted before. Even though I've painted these roads for nearly 20 years, things are always changing. A new shed gets built, a barn falls down, or, in this case, the barn was wrapped in a new covering. The warm evening light bounced off the north side of the barn like a shimmering lake, catching my eye and giving me a new reason to stop and paint.
This is the original painting, an oil on canvas measuring 16 × 20" and will come framed.
