I was in a car crash in January. When I got home and the car was towed away, all I could think about was painting from this photo of sunflowers. I was feeling fragmented from the experience, and that same emotion came through in the painting.
My paintings always seem to follow my emotions, and this one came from a particularly rare feeling. The sunflowers gave me something beautiful to focus on, even when everything else felt unsettled.
This is the original painting, an oil on canvas measuring 20 × 24" framed.
