Cat in the Window

In February, when the days are still cold and gray, a south facing window becomes a little spot of warmth. I loved the way the shapes and colors came together in this scene. The warm sunlight, cool shadows, and simple shapes of the window and cat all work together. The cat almost becomes another shape within the composition, completely absorbed in the patch of winter sunshine.

This is the original painting, an oil on canvas measuring 12 × 16" and will come framed.
