We live right on the edge of the Baraboo Bluffs. This scene is a few miles away, where I climbed to the top of one bluff and looked out over several more. I set up and painted in early August. The days were getting shorter, but it was still hot and humid.
You can see the humidity in the sky above the farm, where the evening light turned the atmosphere purple and gold. I loved the way the moisture in the air transformed the last light of the day.
This is the original painting, an oil on canvas measuring 16 × 20" and will come framed.
