Diamond Hill Road and the Baraboo Bluffs

In July, there is often a milky haze that hangs in the air. It's made up of moisture and humidity, creating the atmospheric, perspective that veils the bluffs in the distance. I think of every five feet of space as another veil of semi-opaque atmosphere. As the distance recedes, those layers add up and eventually culminate in the prismatic colors of the far off bluffs.

This is the original painting, an oil on canvas measuring 16 × 24" and will come framed.
