I was standing in the field the week after it was planted when I painted this. It was late May, and the golden-hour light was beginning to fade as the moon rose and the sun set. The growing shadows created a beautiful contrast with the warm light still falling across the farm.
I loved the feeling of that transition from day into night, and the way the landscape seemed to change by the minute.
This is the original painting, an oil on canvas measuring 16 × 20" and will come framed.
